Introduction to Microbiology

Course Description: In this course, students will gain knowledge about how microbes evolve, the structure and functions of their cells, their activities, their interactions with host animals, the basics of molecular biology (genetic material, genetic engineering, molecular diagnostics, and molecular biology techniques), their importance in causing diseases, and how to detect them.
Credit hours: 3
Prerequisites: BCH 301
Objectives of the course :

Providing students with basic knowledge about microbes, their veterinary importance, and identification methods.
This course prepares students for the systematic courses at the next level.

Course outputs :

Students will be able to narrate and identify foundational knowledge related to microbes.
Students will be able to identify and perform appropriate methods for diagnosing and identifying microbes.
