Applications of Assessment and Measurement in Sports Science

Course Description: Lists tests and measurements in the sports field, including the concept, definition, types, importance, and objectives of measurement, evaluation, and testing, and the differences between them; levels of measurement; principles for classifying tests and measurements in the sports field; and modern applications of tests and measurements in the sports field.

Objectives of the course :

• Presents fields of application for measurement and testing in sports, difficulties encountered in the measurement process in sports, familiarization with some devices, tools, and tests used in measurement and evaluation in sports and their practical applications (anthropometry – physiology – physical attributes – skills), scientific conditions for testing and factors affecting them, how to interpret scores obtained from measurement processes (raw score – standard score – averages), the role of statistics in the evaluation process, and analysis of sample tests used. .
