Course Description: This course covers the principles and methods of scientific research used in sports science. These include: descriptive, experimental, quasi-experimental, historical, and clinical approaches, along with the steps for each. It addresses how to apply the scientific method to study sports science problems, emphasizing precise problem definition. The course trains students on how to select and write research titles that reflect study variables, and choose the most appropriate scientific methodologies for investigation. It also covers theoretical research techniques for identifying and classifying literature that includes theoretical frameworks and previous studies related to the research problem. Students will learn how to select and describe different types of samples, formulate hypotheses, and test their validity using various methods and tools. Furthermore, the course covers selecting and designing necessary research instruments, obtaining and analyzing results, discussing findings, and formulating recommendations and writing research reports. Students will have the opportunity to practice these research skills through applied research reports.
