Introduction to Sport and Exercise Science

Course Description: The course aims to provide students with knowledge and information regarding the definition and nature of the history of physical education and its evolution across eras; enable students to understand the nature of philosophy, its foundations, principles, as well as the philosophy of physical education, its origins, and schools of thought; identify the difference between assessment and evaluation and their methods; and familiarize students with the concepts and definitions of sports sciences and physical activity.

Objectives of the course :

Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
1. Familiarity with the general knowledge, principles, and foundations of the meaning and objectives of physical education.
2. He knows the basic concepts of physical education and sports.
3. Distinguishes between sports and physical education.
4. Knows the concept of philosophy and the philosophical foundations of physical education and sports.
5. It illustrates the importance of studying the history of physical education and sports.
6. It shows the most important developments in physical education and sports across various historical eras.
7. It illustrates the most important developments in physical education and sports in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
8. He knows the most important challenges facing the profession of physical education and sports.
