Principles and Applications of Track and Field (2)

Course Description: This course covers the definition, history, and divisions of athletics. It addresses the organization and management of track and field competitions, the selection of junior athletes in track and field, and the educational steps, technical stages, and legal principles for the prescribed competitions. It also involves the technical, educational, and legal stages of the following prescribed competitions: middle-distance races (800m run / 1500m run) - relay races (4x400m relay) - hurdle races (110m hurdles / 400m hurdles) - high jump - discus throw - combined events.

Objectives of the course :

This course aims to enable the student to: explain the nature, history, and divisions of track and field competitions, describe how to draw and design the track and the locations of the scheduled practical competitions, explain how to organize and manage track and field championships, list methods for selecting junior athletes in track and field competitions, list and analyze the technical stages of motor performance for the scheduled competitions into their initial stages, deduce the most important stage and connect each technical stage to the next stage for the scheduled competitions, identify legal errors that lead to a failed attempt for the scheduled competitions, perform and execute the scheduled practical competitions: middle distances (800m run – 1500m run) – relays (4 x 400m relay) – (hurdles: 110m hurdles – 400m hurdles) – high jump – discus throw – combined events, apply warm-up and cool-down exercises for the scheduled practical competitions, teach a colleague and correct errors for the scheduled practical competitions, communicate using technological means in the educational process, acquire the ability to lead, work in a team, and transfer knowledge, acquire volitional traits and practice sound health habits, acquire the ability to lead, work in a team, and transfer knowledge.
