This course aims to enable the student to: explain the history, nature, and fields of sport psychology, the athletic personality, and study the psychological factors affecting the mental preparation of athletes as a fundamental pillar of the athlete's comprehensive preparation. This includes clarifying communication skills between the coach (instructor) and the player to improve motor skill learning, enhance performance levels, reward positive behavior, and develop self-confidence and motivation and their relationship to athletic performance. The course addresses the coach's (instructor's) role in guiding players' emotions such as anxiety, stress, and burnout. The material covers contemporary issues in sport psychology, methods of psychological mobilization, and assisting players (athletes) in coping with training and life pressures.
Knowledge and understanding:
The student explains what sports psychology is and its relationship to personality behavior in the sports field.
• The student reviews the role of the sports psychologist in the psychological preparation of athletes.
• The student will explain the nature of motivation, emotions, self-confidence, and burnout in the field of sports, and the role of psychological skills in performance development.

• The student applies long-term and short-term psychological preparation steps.
• Utilizes methods to enhance achievement motivation and self-confidence development for athletes.
• Uses technological applications for effective communication and preparing course topic presentations.
