Principles and Applications of Track and Field (1)

Course Description: This course covers the definition, history, and divisions of track and field competitions, warm-up and cool-down in track and field, and the mechanical foundations of prescribed practical competitions. It also addresses the teaching steps, technical stages, and legal principles of the prescribed competitions, which include short-distance races, relay races, long jump, triple jump, javelin throw, and shot put.

Objectives of the course :

This course aims to enable the student to: explain the nature, history, and divisions of track and field competitions, and describe how to draw and design the track and the venues for the practical competitions designated. The student will enumerate the technical stages of motor performance for the designated practical competitions, analyze the technical stages of motor performance for the designated competitions into their initial stages, deduce the most important stage, and link each technical stage and the subsequent stage for the designated competitions. The student will identify the legal errors that lead to a failed attempt for the designated competitions, perform and execute the designated practical competitions: short distances (100m / sprint) - relay races (4x100m / relay) - long jump - shot put. The student will apply warm-up and cool-down exercises for the designated practical competitions, teach a colleague and correct errors for the designated practical competitions, communicate using technological means in the educational process, acquire the ability to lead, work in teams, and transfer experiences, and acquire willpower traits and practice sound health habits.
