Posture and therapeutic exercise

Course Description: This course describes the scientific principles of human posture from an anatomical and biomechanical perspective, focusing on the kinetic analysis of postural imbalances and diagnostic skills using modern techniques, and designing evidence-based therapeutic exercise programs to correct deviations and restore functional efficiency to the body.
Credits: 2
Prerequisites: SPOR112
Objectives of the course :

This course aims to introduce students to the scientific fields of human posture from an anatomical and biomechanical perspective, focusing on the kinematic analysis of postural deviations. It will equip students with diagnostic skills using modern techniques and the design of evidence-based therapeutic exercise programs to correct deviations and restore functional body efficiency. It will also cover the relationship between imbalanced muscle hypertrophy and postural deformities.

Course outputs :

Knowledge and understanding:

  • This lists the concepts of body composition, its definition, and its importance in public health.
  • Explains the causes of postural deformities and their relationship to different body systems.
  • This discusses common postural deformities and their treatment methods, with examples of therapeutic exercises for these deformities.
  • It mentions the body's needs for exercises, their intensity, and the performance level.
  • Discusses the relationship between therapeutic exercises and sports health.
  • Summarizes the most important dietary guidelines and recommendations for athletes.

Skills:

  • Modern technological applications are used in athlete nutrition to develop professional performance.
  • Sports nutrition is the application of nutritional principles to enhance athletic performance and recovery. It involves a balanced intake of macronutrients (carbohydrates, protein, and fats) and micronutrients (vitamins and minerals) tailored to the specific demands of an athlete's training and competition schedule. Proper sports nutrition is crucial for: * **Energy Provision:** Carbohydrates are the primary fuel source for intense exercise. * **Muscle Repair and Growth:** Protein is essential for repairing muscle tissue damaged during training and for muscle hypertrophy. * **Hydration:** Adequate fluid intake is vital for maintaining performance, regulating body temperature, and preventing dehydration. * **Recovery:** Nutrients play a key role in replenishing glycogen stores, reducing inflammation, and promoting muscle recovery after exercise. * **Injury Prevention:** A well-nourished body is better equipped to handle the stresses of training, potentially reducing the risk of injuries. * **Immune Function:** Micronutrients support a healthy immune system, which can be taxed by intense training. In essence, sports nutrition is not just about what athletes eat, but *how* and *when* they eat to optimize their athletic potential. .
  • Identifies nutrients and how to utilize them
  • Recognizing preliminary texture examination and diagnostic methods.
  • Recognizing ways to maintain texture.
  • Familiarize yourself with the rules for conducting tests and measurements.
  • To recognize the most important acknowledgments and modern dietary recommendations for athletes, taking into account the targeted physical activity and individual differences.

Values, autonomy and responsibility:

  • Demonstrates integrity, values, and professional ethics when dealing with posture and therapeutic exercise issues and problems.
  • Performs professional tasks and activities in rehabilitation programs effectively and independently.
  • Collaborates effectively within projects or research or professional groups, and leads and takes responsibility while working.
  • Developing the learner's ability to perform assignments and submit them on time.
  • Developing the learner's ability in dialogue and discussion.
  • Developing the skill of dealing with others and taking responsibility.
  • Adherence to academic integrity in student assignments and research papers. .
  • Developing self-learning and research in various scientific sources.
