Course Description: An overview of geothermal energy, geothermal exploration and thermal mapping, geothermal reservoir characterization, temperature and heat transfer analysis in wells, analysis of geothermal well tests for electricity generation, theory and design of geothermal heat pump applications, closed-loop, open-loop, and hybrid geothermal heat pump systems, ground heat exchangers, and district heating and cooling.

Objectives of the course :

Understanding critical awareness in the use of geothermal energy technologies, design, and application.
* Developing graduates' ability to analyze subsystems of geothermal energy systems, such as heat exchangers, pipelines, steam separators, and safety equipment.
Science for analyzing different problems of the geothermal energy system.
* Developing graduates' ability to design and use geothermal heat pump systems.
Developing awareness of the environmental aspect and the impacts of geothermal energy use.
