Physics of Computed Tomography

Course Description: This course covers the fundamental physics of computed tomography, its generations, helical scanning, 3D imaging, and the application of quality assurance in CT. It also enables students to identify and discuss various image parameters, image optimization, and compare X-ray, MRI, and CT imaging.

Prerequisites: RAD 212
Objectives of the course :

Acquire the fundamental scientific knowledge of computed tomography physics.
• Identification of the main components of CT scanners and their different generations.
• Understanding advanced scanning devices (spiral, single-slice, and multi-slice).
• Evaluation of the quality control policy in computed tomography.
