And whoever kills a believer by mistake, then [it is required] to free a believing slave and to give the blood money to his family [if they agree]. But if the killed one is from a people hostile to you and he is a believer, then [the freeing of] a believing slave is in order. And if he is from a people with whom you have a treaty, then blood money is to be paid to his family and a believing slave to be freed. And whoever does not find [this], then [he shall] fast two months consecutively, [having followed] the sequence of Allah's forgiveness. And Allah is ever Knowing and Wise. (93) But whoever kills a believer intentionally - his recompense is Hell, wherein he will abide eternally, and Allah has become angry with him, and cursed him, and prepared for him a great punishment. (94) O you who have believed, when you go forth [to fight] in the cause of Allah, investigate and do not say to one who puts the greeting upon you, "You are not a believer," lest you seek the passing gain of worldly life. But with Allah is much gain. You [were in] your former state [like him], and Allah bestowed His favor upon you. So investigate. Indeed, Allah is ever, with what you do, acquainted.
