Research Methods in Education and Psychology

Course Description: This course aims to study the objectives and importance of practical research methodologies for researchers, students, and practitioners in counseling and therapy. It also covers the specifications, characteristics, and conditions of good research and outstanding researchers. It includes an intensive, systematic introduction to the types and characteristics of scientific research methods, approaches, and techniques used in education and psychology in general, and in counseling, therapy, and research in particular, such as the clinical, descriptive, experimental, and qualitative research methods, and the areas of use for each. The course aims to develop the skills of students and researchers in preparing a comprehensive research plan with quality and proficiency, including sources for selecting and formulating the problem, formulating and testing hypotheses, constructing and preparing or standardizing instruments, applications, and identifying and selecting optimal means for data analysis and reaching results and discussing them, formulating recommendations and suggestions, and mastering the use of sources and references according to APA style, both in the body of the research and in the list of sources and references, and visiting libraries to consult primary and secondary sources and references.
