Course Description: The aim of this course is to help PhD students in Educational Psychology acquire deep and up-to-date scientific knowledge, experiences, skills, and attitudes that will enable them, after studying the course, to write, speak, and discuss cognitive processes (attention, perception, memory, representation and processing of cognitive information), their neurological bases, processes, outcomes, and the theories that have attempted to explain patterns of cognitive behavior, cognitive therapy and counseling, and cognitive methods. That is, after studying the course, to know the cognitive psychological theories that explained cognitive behavior or one of its patterns (forms), and how they explained it. Develop the skill of reviewing recent Arabic and foreign references (books) that deal with cognitive psychology, accessing scientific journals and specialized centers that publish research and studies in cognitive psychology and its theories. Present, summarize, discuss, and critically review master's and doctoral theses that addressed one of the topics of cognitive psychology and its theories during the period (2010-2018), offering constructive scientific criticism. Propose a new research title whose topic falls within the scope of cognitive psychology and its theories.
