Qualitative research design

Course Description: The student will learn about qualitative research, qualitative study design, qualitative research methods, sample selection methods in qualitative research, data collection and analysis manually and computationally using well-known global software, methods for writing and evaluating qualitative reports, criteria for validity and evaluation of qualitative studies, and the most important ethical issues in qualitative research.
Credit hours: 3
Objectives of the course :

Introduce students to the concepts and methods of qualitative research and how to design and conduct qualitative studies. Upon successful completion of this course, students are expected to be able to:
1. Understanding qualitative research and its importance in sociology and other social sciences.
2. Design and execute qualitative studies independently, including selecting qualitative research methods and developing data collection plans.
3. Utilizing known tools and techniques for collecting and analyzing qualitative data, whether through manual methods or the use of universal software.
4. Writing qualitative reports accurately and systematically, and evaluating them based on quality standards.
5. Critically think about the ethical issues related to qualitative research and assess the appropriateness of the methods used and their application in the social context.
