Course Description: This course covers the basic concepts in statistics, methods of data representation, presentation, and description, measures of central tendency and dispersion, correlation coefficients, non-parametric tests, analysis of variance, the "t" test, and other important statistical methods for data interpretation and analysis.
Credit hours: 3
Objectives of the course :

Introducing the student to the basic concepts of statistics and methods for representing, presenting, and describing data.
– Introduce the student to important advanced statistical operations.
Enable the student to describe and interpret data using various statistical methods, and to interpret the fundamentals of probability.
Training the student to use computers for statistical data analysis

Course outputs :

Understanding levels of measurement and variables and their types
Understanding Statistical Hypothesis Testing and the Concept of Significance.
Identifying measures of central tendency (mean, median, mode).
Understanding Measures of Dispersion (Range, Standard Deviation).
Understanding Correlation Coefficients: Pearson Correlation Coefficient, Spearman Correlation Coefficient, Linear Regression, and Multiple Regression
Non-parametric statistical tests: t-test, analysis of variance.
The ability to identify levels of measurement, variables and their types, statistical testing of scientific hypotheses, and measuring significance.
The ability to use statistical methods and software in data processing, extracting measures of dispersion and central tendency, and their usefulness in verifying scientific research questions.
The ability to use statistical methods and software in data processing, extracting correlation coefficients, and testing the significance of differences, and using them to verify scientific research questions.
