Advanced Inferential Statistics

Course Description: This course focuses on the foundations of inferential statistics and the concept of sampling distribution, its use in statistical estimation, hypothesis testing, and the differences between parametric and non-parametric statistics. The course also covers training on selecting appropriate analysis methods, performing analyses manually and using statistical software, presenting and interpreting analysis results, and testing the validity of differential, correlational, and predictive hypotheses using parametric and non-parametric statistical methods.
Credit hours: 3
Objectives of the course :

By the end of the course, the student will be able to:
Defining statistical concepts related to generalizing from sample data to population data.
• Select statistical previews.
• Convert research questions and problems into statistical hypotheses.
Executing some statistical methods manually and using statistical analysis software.
• Interpretation of data analysis results.

Knowledge and understanding:

  • Understanding the differences between research hypotheses and statistical hypotheses, and the errors in their verification.
  • Determining the appropriate statistical method given the data type and the nature of the statistical hypothesis.
  • Comparing different inferential statistical methods.
