Course Description: This course introduces the concept of psychopathology and its role in identifying psychological disorders, along with the diagnostic criteria that distinguish each disorder. It also provides definitions for neurotic and psychotic disorders, their characteristics, prevalence rates, and training in making differential diagnoses for psychological disorders. The course addresses ongoing issues in diagnosis, explores the causes and explanatory theories for each disorder, and then delves into the mechanisms of psychotherapy in addressing these disorders.

Objectives of the course :

• The course aims to:
• Understanding the nature of psychopathology and the historical roots of fundamental concepts.
Classification of Mental Disorders (Neurotic - Psychotic).
Distinguishing between explanatory models of neurotic and psychotic disorders.
Identify diagnostic methods in psychopathology.
• Recognition of mental, neurotic, and psychotic disorders in terms of (definition – prevalence – causes – diagnosis – treatment).
