Psychology of Women

Course Description: This course introduces the nature and history of women's psychology, its relationship with other sciences, and the nature and characteristics of women. It also covers concepts, principles, and basic terminology related to women's psychology (female, wife, working mother, role conflict, divorce, spinsterhood). The course also touches upon the nature of women from anatomical, physiological, and biological perspectives, and women's psychology from social and psychological viewpoints. Additionally, it explores the female life cycle and age stages, psychological changes during these stages, and methods for overcoming these changes and managing their effects. It examines theories, trends, and contemporary developments in the field of women's psychology, as well as common disorders among contemporary women, their causes, prevention, and an overview of counseling programs focused on women's psychological empowerment and improving their physical health and psychological well-being. Finally, it reviews applied models from studies and research on psychological disorders faced by women.

The student will learn about cognitive psychology, its most important trends, and the factors that led to its emergence. They will also understand its relationship with other psychological sciences, grasp the role of mental processes such as attention, perception, memory, thinking, language, learning, and metacognition in information processing. Furthermore, they will learn about the effectiveness and methods of training cognitive skills and strategies, and the importance of recognizing learners' learning styles and thinking styles.
