Course Description: The course covers the nature of human development, an introduction to adulthood and aging, research methods in developmental psychology, theoretical models of human development, human development in adulthood, stages of development in adulthood, aspects of development in the stages of adulthood, lifelong learning in adults, stages and aspects of development in old age, theories of aging and senescence, the stages of old age and senility, problems associated with adulthood and aging, their requirements and management, rehabilitation programs for the elderly, and quality of life programs for the elderly.

Objectives of the course :

The course aims to:
• Introduce students to the concept of growth, its nature, definition, components, and the objectives of research in developmental psychology, human growth characteristics, stages of human growth, and research methods in human growth.
• Introducing students to the stage of adulthood and its defining criteria, early and middle adulthood, and cognitive and emotional growth in middle adulthood. .
• Introduce students to the aging stage and its characteristics, highlighting the most prominent aspects of human growth during aging and some of the theories that have addressed this stage.
• Introducing students to the stages of aging and the most important physical and physiological changes that occur in it, including changes in motor activity, cognitive-mental changes, and the late stages of life.
• Introducing students to the problems of old age, their requirements, and management, such as: (health problems, social problems, psychological problems, economic problems, retirement problem)
• Introducing students to elder rehabilitation programs and quality of life programs for the elderly. .

Course outputs :

The student will know the concept of growth, its nature, definition, components, and the objectives of research in developmental psychology.
