Course Description: This course introduces sports psychology, covering its history, nature, and fields. It also addresses athletic personality and the psychological factors influencing athletes' mental preparation as a cornerstone of comprehensive athlete development. The course clarifies communication skills between coaches (teachers) and athletes (students) to improve motor skill learning, enhance performance levels, reward positive behavior, and develop self-confidence and motivation, exploring their relationship with athletic performance. It examines the coach's (teacher's) role in guiding athletes' (students') emotions, including anxiety, stress, and burnout. The material also covers contemporary issues in sports psychology, psychological mobilization techniques, and assisting athletes in coping with training and life pressures.

Objectives of the course :

The course aims to introduce the student to: the history, nature, and fields of sports psychology; the study of psychological factors influencing the mental preparation of athletes; communication skills between coach (teacher) and player (student); and the role of the coach (teacher) in managing athletes' (students') emotions such as anxiety, stress, and burnout. It also covers contemporary issues in sports psychology, methods of psychological mobilization, and assisting players (athletes) in coping with the pressures of training and life.
