Course Description: This course covers the definition of cultural psychology, its origins, historical development, and its future in light of contemporary social and cultural changes. The course also examines the growth of cognition and memory within cultural frameworks, and the understanding of social and historical contexts that influence psychological processes. Additionally, it explores concepts of intelligence and memory within a cultural framework, and evaluates the methodologies used in comparative cultural studies. The course also addresses the stages of transition from comparative cultural psychology to cultural psychology, by reviewing relevant theoretical, cultural, and historical approaches.
