Course Description: This course aims to provide the psychologist with scientific knowledge and a deep understanding of the concept of mental health and its importance in enhancing the quality of life for individuals and society. The course seeks to develop students' awareness of the factors influencing an individual's psychological balance, whether biological, psychological, or social. It focuses on the concept of psychological conflict, its types, causes, and defense mechanisms (rationalization and compensation), ways to prevent mental disorders, and coping skills for life stressors. It also aims to introduce students to the different manifestations of sound mental health, such as psychological and social adjustment, the ability to deal with crises, and the development of self-esteem and self-awareness. It also seeks to foster an understanding of the relationship between mental health and positive psychology.
