Theory in test development

Course Description: This course introduces students to Classical Test Theory and Item Response Theory, the most important theories in measurement science, and how these theories have contributed to solving a number of problems in the development of various scales and tests. Students will also be introduced to the assumptions of these theories, their associated concepts, how to construct tests, and how to apply and interpret their results.

Prerequisites: PSY 516
Objectives of the course :

The course aims to build fundamental concepts and competencies in the student related to the classical theory in psychological and educational measurement, in terms of constructing (psychological and educational) tests, their application procedures, scoring, interpreting results, and deriving norms that describe performance on them within reference groups.
