Project

Course Description: The student conducts research under the supervision of a faculty member in one of the following topics: Theoretical Physics - Nuclear Physics - Solid State Physics - Optical Fibers - Plasma - Lasers - Electronics. The student submits a report that is evaluated by a committee chosen by the department.

Prerequisites: PHYS479
Objectives of the course :

Equipping the student with the skill of scientific research, thinking about solving physical problems, deriving solutions for them, and discussing the results they obtain.

Course outputs :

At the end of the course, the student should be able to do the following:
1- Describe appropriate procedures and identify suitable laboratory equipment for conducting experimental activities in various physics fields using appropriate research and investigation methodologies.
2- Proving, applying, and verifying laws, concepts, and theories in physics.
3. Applying basic mathematical concepts and laws to explain and interpret physical facts and phenomena.
4. Use laboratory equipment to experimentally determine the properties of physical systems, and appropriately analyze and interpret the experimental results.
