Course Description: Analog Electronics (2 hours per week): P-N Junction Diode: Applications of the diode (half-wave and full-wave rectification, voltage multipliers, clippers and clampers) - Zener Diode and its applications - JFET (Junction Field-Effect Transistor): BJT (Bipolar Junction Transistor) transistor biasing methods with amplifier circuits - BJT: Bipolar junction transistor biasing methods with amplifier circuits – Differential amplifier – Ideal operational amplifier – Introduction to feedback – Oscillators and multivibrators. Digital Electronics (1 hour per week): Number systems - Logic gates – Simplification of logic circuits - Flip-flops – Shift registers – Counters - Memory information. Practical Part (2 hours per week): Applications of P-N Junction Diode and Zener Diode (half-wave rectification, full-wave rectification, clippers and clampers, voltage regulator with input or load variation) - Transistor Amplifiers: Field-effect transistor and bipolar junction transistor - Applications of the 741 operational amplifier (or equivalent) (inverting amplifier, non-inverting amplifier, first-order active filters, Wien bridge oscillator, astable multivibrator). Half adder and full adder (e.g., 7483) - Flip-flops (e.g., 7476-7474) - Shift registers (e.g., 7495-74194) - Counters (e.g., 7493 and 74193).

Objectives of the course :

Study of the properties and uses of different types of semiconductor components, and familiarity with amplifier circuits and digital circuits.

Course outputs :

At the end of the course, the student should be able to do the following:
1- To analyze and synthesize basic electronic circuits, whether analog or digital.
2- Identify the function of the electronic circuits they are exposed to.
3- Comparison of analog and digital circuits in terms of ease and accuracy.
3- Demonstrate skills in conducting laboratory experiments using modern equipment and design software.
