Fundamentals of Physiology

Course Description: This course aims to introduce students in health professions to the fundamental concepts and normal functions of all body systems. It provides students with a comprehensive overview of how different body systems function in an integrated manner to maintain homeostasis, and thus preserve human health. The course also aims to develop students' ability to discuss, judge, and solve problems based on their physiological background.

Objectives of the course :

This course aims to introduce students in health-related fields to the basic concepts and normal functions of all body systems.

Course outputs :

Knowledge and understanding:

 

Naming the organs or components of each body system.

Definition of physiological terms.

Statement of primary and secondary functions for each body part.

The number of key factors that control the various aspects and standards of each body organ.

Explain the fundamental concepts and theories related to each organ system of the body.

Clarification of the organization of various functions and processes for all bodily organs.

Explain the role of each organ in maintaining the stability of the internal environment (homeostasis).
