Physiology (1)

Course Description: This course aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the physiological principles that govern human body functions, starting from the cellular level as the basic functional unit, up to the integrated functions of various organs and systems. The course focuses on the concept of integrative physiology by studying the interactions and interdependence between different body systems, highlighting how they work in a coordinated manner to maintain homeostasis and ensure normal vital functions.

Objectives of the course :

Provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the physiological principles that govern human body functions and their mechanisms of regulation and control at the cellular, organ, and systemic levels.
Enable students to grasp the concepts of functional integration between different body organs, and understand their role in maintaining homeostasis and the continuity of vital functions.
Establishing the scientific foundations that support the study of subsequent professional and specialized courses, and contributing to the interpretation of physiological aspects related to health practice.
4. Developing positive professional attitudes and enhancing communication, leadership, and teamwork skills, which support effective professional performance and continuous learning.

Course outputs :

1.0 Knowledge and Understanding:
1.1 Identifying the structure and functions of the different components of the cell, including the plasma membrane, the nucleus, the cytoplasm, and the cellular organelles.
1.2 Identify mechanisms of body function regulation and control.
1.3 Description of the basic physiological concepts of homeostasis and its role in regulating and maintaining the body's internal environment.
1.4 Description of the functions of various body organs, their mechanisms of action, and methods of regulating their functions.
2.0 Skills:
2.1 Explanation and understanding of the functional integration between different body systems and how they interact to maintain normal vital functions.
2.2 Interpretation of pulmonary function test results, blood test results, kidney function test results, and other functional assessments of various body systems.
3.0 Values, Autonomy, and Responsibility.
3.1 Demonstrate appropriate professional trends related to teamwork, leadership skills, continuous self-learning, and effective communication with team members.
