General Pathology

Course Description: General pathology focuses on the fundamental cellular and tissue responses to etiologic agents. This course introduces students to the basic concepts of cellular and tissue alterations associated with various disease processes, including cellular injury, adaptation, cell death, inflammation, repair, and fluid and hemodynamic derangements. Additionally, students are expected to learn modern concepts in carcinogenesis, terminology, morphology, and the biological behavior of benign and malignant neoplasms.

Objectives of the course :

This course aims to introduce students to the basic cellular and tissue responses to pathological stimuli, as well as modern concepts in carcinogenesis, nomenclature, and morphology, in addition to the biological behavior of benign and malignant tumors.

Describe the morphological changes (gross and microscopic) resulting from various pathological processes in organs.
