Course Description: Introduction to pests and their damages, history of pest control/ Basic components of pest management programs (biological and ecological aspects - economic threshold levels - natural control)/ Control methods (agricultural - biological - mechanical - chemical - regulatory and legislative)/ Types of pesticides/ Pesticide formulations/ Methods of pesticide application/ Safety precautions when handling pesticides/ Microbial biopesticides/ Biochemical compounds (plant extracts and oils). .

Objectives of the course :

Providing students with knowledge related to agricultural pests, their damages, and their critical thresholds, as well as various strategies for agricultural pest management and control methods.
