Children's optics

Course Description: This course addresses the evaluation and management of visual problems in children. It covers normal visual system development, vision screening in infants and children, refractive errors, strabismus, amblyopia, and vision disorders associated with development, with a focus on early diagnosis and appropriate intervention.

Prerequisites: OPTM454
Objectives of the course :

Understanding normal vision development in children.
2. Perform visual examinations of children using appropriate methods.
3. Diagnosing common vision problems in childhood.
4. Preparing appropriate treatment or referral plans.
5. Enhancing communication skills with children and their parents.
