Anatomy and physiology of the eye

Course Description: This course covers the anatomical and physiological structure of the eye and its adnexa. It includes the anatomy of the eyeball, cornea, lens, retina, optic nerve, lacrimal apparatus, and extraocular muscles, focusing on the relationship between structure and function and its importance in the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases.

Credit hours: 4

Prerequisites: ANAT212

Objectives of the course :

1. Identify the anatomical structure of the eye and its adnexa.
2. Understanding the physiological functions of different parts of the eye.
3. Interpretation of the relationship between anatomical structure and visual function.
4. Linking anatomical knowledge to clinical courses in optometry.
5. Developing skills in using anatomical and clinical terminology.
