Health assessment in clinical practice

Course Description: This course aims to familiarize students with the concepts, principles, and methods to be followed when taking a patient's medical history using various tools, conducting a complete head-to-toe physical examination, and evaluating the patient's psychological and social status. It also covers interpreting laboratory tests to reach a sound nursing diagnosis across different age groups. The course provides a holistic view of nursing care through essential information and skills related to various health problems. Clinical practice and application are an integral part of this course, focusing on students acquiring fundamental nursing care skills and sound knowledge related to patients' nursing needs.

Objectives of the course :

Applying appropriate assessment concepts, principles, techniques, and tools in patient assessment for individuals across different age groups. .
2. Differentiating between normal and abnormal assessment results. .
3. Understanding the physical changes affecting individuals with health problems.
4. Planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care using standardized decision-making frameworks. .
5. Integrating scientific knowledge with nursing practice in patient assessment and appropriate nursing care. .
