Pathophysiology

Course Description: This course aims to enable students to deeply study the pathological and physiological changes that accompany diseases and how they affect humans. The course focuses on the nursing care of patients with acute and chronic diseases of the respiratory, circulatory, renal, nervous, digestive, and musculoskeletal systems that require treatment. It will cover the basic body systems, common diseases within them, and the mechanism of pathological changes caused by these diseases. .

Objectives of the course :

Understanding the principles of disorders in the patient's circulatory, respiratory, digestive, nervous, blood, kidney, and immune systems to enable them to conceptualize differential diagnoses.
2. Description of general concepts of diseases, their causes, and the body's responses to infection.
3. Identifying the dysfunction of various body organs. .
4. Discussion of the pathogenesis and treatment methods for common diseases.

Course outputs :

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to demonstrate the ability to:
1. Explains the phenomenon of inflammation and its relationship to diseases.
2. Discusses the causes, pathogenesis, morphology, and clinical significance of selected disorders of the cardiopulmonary, renal, nervous, digestive, immune, hematopoietic, and endocrine systems.
Participates in discussions about the causes and dynamics of diseases, with knowledge of current scientific information.
4. Assumes individual responsibility as a caregiver and manager, and applies the pathophysiology of diseases in patient care.
