Advanced Anatomy

Course Description: The Advanced Anatomy course (MVM 659) provides an in-depth and comprehensive study of the comparative anatomy of major organ systems in domestic animals. It covers the nervous system, including the autonomic nervous system (sympathetic and parasympathetic); the cardiovascular system, with an emphasis on the arterial supply to various organs; the respiratory system; the digestive system; the urinary system; the male and female reproductive systems; and the lymphatic system. It also focuses on anatomical relationships of clinical and surgical significance and their applications in veterinary medicine.

Objectives of the course :

By the end of this course, the student is expected to be able to:

 

Gain advanced knowledge of the anatomy of body systems and various anatomical regions in domestic animals.
Comparing the anatomical structures in various species of domestic animals and identifying the similarities and differences between them.
Apply anatomical knowledge to understand the relationships between body structures and their clinical significance.
Connecting anatomical concepts to clinical and surgical specialties to support veterinary diagnosis and practice.
Develop an integrated understanding of topical and regional anatomy related to clinical examination, diagnostic imaging, and surgical procedures.
