Transfusion Science

Course Description: The course covers the theoretical and practical aspects of immunohematology and blood banking, including different blood groups, compatibility testing and blood transfusion, antibody detection, transfusion complications, donor selection, and preparation of blood components.
Credit hours: 3
Prerequisites: MDL 364
Objectives of the course :

1. Introduce students to the different blood group systems and their clinical significance.
2. Developing skills in performing compatibility testing and detecting antibodies.
3. Train students on the application of safe blood transfusion procedures and blood bank practices.
