Clinical bacteriology

Course Description: The course covers the study of medically important bacteria in terms of their characteristics, classification, virulence factors, epidemiology, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention. It focuses on isolating bacteria from clinical samples and identifying them using laboratory techniques and antibiotic susceptibility testing.
Credit hours: 3
Prerequisites: MDL 240
Objectives of the course :

Introduce students to pathogenic bacteria, their characteristics, and classification.
2. Developing skills in isolating and diagnosing bacteria from clinical samples.
3. Training students to interpret antibiotic susceptibility test results according to approved standards.
