Clinical Biochemistry

Course Description: The course covers the applied aspects of clinical biochemistry, including the biochemical foundations of diseases, specialized diagnostic tests, and the interpretation of laboratory results related to renal, hepatic, cardiac, endocrine, and trace element functions, in addition to therapeutic drug monitoring, toxicology, and quality control in clinical biochemistry laboratories.
Credit hours: 3
Prerequisites: MDL 230
Objectives of the course :

1. Introduce students to the principles of clinical biochemistry and its relationship to health and disease.
2. Developing skills in conducting and interpreting diagnostic biochemical tests.
3. Training students on applying quality control procedures and using modern laboratory equipment.
