Introduction to Immunology

Course Description: The course covers the fundamentals of immunology, including innate and adaptive immunity, immune cells and factors, antigens and antibodies, complement, immune responses, hypersensitivity, autoimmune diseases, immunodeficiency, and common serological tests.

Objectives of the course :

1. Introduce students to the components of the immune system and its mechanisms.
2. Understanding humoral and cellular immune responses and their role in fighting diseases.
3. Identification of immunological and serological tests used in laboratory diagnosis.

• Explains the components of the immune system and their functions.
• Explains the mechanisms of immune response and their relationship to immune diseases and infections.
• Differentiate the basic principles of serological and immunological tests used in medical laboratories.
