The Criminal Procedure System in the Comparative Saudi System

Course Description: The course addresses the penal procedures regulating criminal proceedings, from the stage of initiation to the execution of judgments, in accordance with the Penal Procedures Law.
Credit hours: 3
Objectives of the course :

The objective of studying this course is to develop the student's abilities in the field of criminal procedure law, their understanding of this system, and to introduce the rights of the accused and the procedures of criminal litigation from its initiation until its conclusion with a final and enforceable judgment, in accordance with the principles of Islamic jurisprudence, the regulations issued in this regard in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and comparative laws, and within the time frame allocated for studying the course.

The student should know the rules governing the stages of evidence gathering, preliminary investigation, and trial.
2. The student thoroughly understands the provisions of the theory of nullity and the principle that the accused is presumed innocent.

And the definition of the criminal procedure system, its nature, characteristics, purposes, and sources, and its relationship to other criminal sciences and to the system of sharia litigation.
