Intellectual Property Rights

Course Description: This course covers the provisions for protecting intellectual property rights domestically and internationally.

Credits: 2

Prerequisites: LAW 101

Objectives of the course :

The course aims to:
Introducing students to the origin, concept, scope, and importance of intellectual property rights, and their understanding of the regulations governing literary and artistic property rights, industrial and commercial property rights, computer programs, and databases, and the means of their protection locally and internationally. The study of this course will be in accordance with the regulations issued in this regard in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, national legislation, and relevant international conventions, within the prescribed timeframe.

1- To know the basic concepts and types of intellectual property rights.
2. To clarify the provisions and rules for protecting intellectual property rights.

To analyze Saudi systems related to intellectual property.
