Administrative judiciary

Course Description: The course covers the principle of legality and its scope, as well as discretionary power. It defines administrative disputes, identifies the criteria for administrative disputes, and differentiates between administrative lawsuits and disputes and their procedures before the Board of Grievances.

Prerequisites: LAW 232

Objectives of the course :

The aim of this course is to introduce the student to the workings of public administration and its oversight methods, by studying the principle of legality and organizing judicial review of these actions, whether through a unified or dual judicial system. It will also define the position of the Board of Grievances in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia within the unified or dual judicial systems, explain the types of administrative disputes, and outline the jurisdiction of the Saudi Board of Grievances.

Course outputs :

Knowledge and understanding:
1. To know the principle of legality, the sources of legality, and the scope of legality.
2. To identify the administrative authority competent to resolve administrative disputes.
3. Understand the reasons for challenging an administrative decision and the conditions for challenging it.
Skills:
1- Compare administrative lawsuits (action for annulment, action for damages, disciplinary action). .
2- To analyze the Board of Grievances system and the courts' jurisdiction.
To apply systematic procedures in resolving administrative disputes.
