Original in rem rights

Course Description: The course covers original real rights, including ownership, usufruct, and servitudes, in accordance with Saudi regulations applicable in the Saudi judiciary.
Credit hours: 3
Prerequisites: LAW 111
Objectives of the course :

The objective of this course is to introduce the student to the provisions of the right of ownership, the scope of this right, the means of its protection, the limitations imposed on it, and the provisions of common ownership, and the causes of acquiring ownership. It also aims to introduce the student to the provisions of real rights derived from the right of ownership. This will be in accordance with the regulations issued in this regard in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Unified Civil Law of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, and comparative regulations, within the allocated time.

Knowledge and understanding:
Knows the terms and concepts related to original real rights (ownership and its ramifications).
2. To describe the fundamental principles and theories that define the scope of original real rights, the causes for their acquisition, the mechanisms for their protection, and the limitations imposed upon them.

1- To analyze the legal texts related to property rights and the original real rights stemming from them.
2. Draft legal claims and legal memorandums in the field of disputes related to ownership rights and rights derived from them.
