This course aims to familiarize the student with the fundamentals of the commercial system, which is one of the most vital branches of the system, especially in the Saudi system. It also covers the theory of commercial businesses, the merchant, the obligations of merchants, the commercial establishment and its elements, and aims to study commercial contracts. The study of the course will be in accordance with the provisions of Islamic Sharia, the laws issued in this regard in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the unified commercial law for the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, using a comparative approach to what is practiced in other systems, within the set timeframe.
Knowledge and understanding:
1- To understand the concept of commercial law, its sources, and its relationship with other branches of law.
2. To describe the fundamental principles and theories of business and the merchant.
To clarify the legal system of commercial obligations in commercial contracts.

Analyze legal texts of some commercial contracts.
2- To apply the statutory rules to disputes related to commercial establishments.
3. To explain the provisions resulting from acquiring the status of a merchant and the professional obligations.

The relationship of commercial law with other sciences, the development of commercial law, its sources, and its scope.
Business theory and the criteria and manifestations for distinguishing it from civil business.
Types of Businesses:
The Merchant, the Qualities of a Merchant and the Conditions for Acquiring Them, and the Obligations of Merchants.
Commercial store: its definition, elements, the rules governing the rights and transactions related thereto, and unfair competition.
Tangible elements of a commercial establishment and intangible elements.
Commercial shop for sale: General requirements for sale.
