Semantics

Course Description: The course includes fundamental issues in word meanings in terms of request, generality, and clarity, contradictions between meanings, methods of resolving them, and particles and their semantic contribution.

Credit hours: 3

Objectives of the course :

- Understanding the methods of word semantics and how to benefit from them.
Mastering the methods of deriving Islamic legal rulings from textual evidence.
Developing students' skills in dealing with facts and various emerging issues, and how to fit them under the linguistic principles and rules. .

Knowledge and understanding:
The student defines the meanings of words with precise and deep definitions.
2- That the student explains in detail the conflict between the interpretations among the scholars, specifically for the Hanafis, and its jurisprudential impact.
3. The student accurately describes methods of adapting and deriving contemporary issues based on principles of inference. .

To apply the connotations of words to legal and regulatory texts in advanced contexts.
- The student evaluates the methods of indication among the public and the Hanafi school, and the methods of reconciling contradictions between them.
3. Presenting creative solutions to semantic issues in complex contexts, using advanced technologies.
4. Conduct advanced lexicographical research or participate in advanced lexicographical research projects based on innovation, using digital technologies and electronic resources in the field of lexicology.

5- The signification of a word regarding its clarity and obscurity.
6- The significance of a word for its meaning, considering its usage.
The study of the truth of Usul al-Fiqh terminology, divisions, pillars, conditions, comparison between the methodology of the majority and the Hanafis, and the most important issues is taken care of.

1- The connotations of the command (prescriptive ruling, time, number).
