Course Description: This course introduces students to healthcare-associated infections (HAIs), including their significance, contributing factors, and modes of transmission. It also covers infection surveillance, isolation policies, and sterilization and disinfection methods to ensure safe healthcare practices.

Objectives of the course :

Provide students with fundamental knowledge about healthcare-associated infections, including transmission, surveillance, isolation protocols, and sterilization and disinfection methods to effectively combat infections.

Course outputs :

Recognize the importance of healthcare-associated infections.
2. Explain the factors involved, and the sources and modes of transmission of healthcare-associated infections.
3. Able to interpret and apply regulations, guidelines, and policies for healthcare-associated infection control.
4. Implementing and integrating the roles and responsibilities of the Infection Control Committee (ICC) and the Infection Control Team (ICT).
