Introduction to History

Course Description: This course introduces the importance of historical science, its benefits, and the beginnings of historical science among Muslims. It highlights prominent Muslim historians and their role in preserving Arab and Muslim history, compares the development of historical writing with its Greek and Roman counterparts, and mentions the most important Islamic historical schools and their role in the development of historical science.

Objectives of the course :

To know the origin of historical science among Muslims, the most prominent Muslim historians, their method of historical writing, and the most important branches of historical science, and to compare historical documentation between Muslims, Greeks, and Romans, with the acquisition of skills in analysis, ordering, linking, and inference.
