Course Description: This course focuses on the Age of Exploration at the dawn of modern history, the discovery of the New World, European voyages to what would later be called North America, the formation of European colonies there, the ensuing conflicts over land and resources, and interactions with indigenous populations. It then examines the emergence of nascent union among these colonies, which ultimately led to the formation of the United States of America. The course will explore how this nation built its internal systems and subsequently emerged onto the world stage as an influential power, eventually becoming the preeminent global superpower on multiple levels.

Objectives of the course :

The Age of Discovery at the beginning of modern history, the discovery of the New World, European expeditions to what was later named North America, the formation of European colonies therein, the ensuing conflict over land and wealth, and with the indigenous populations, then the emergence of signs of union among those colonies, which ultimately led to the emergence of the United States of America, and how this nation built its internal systems, then its appearance on the world stage as an active player, until it became the world's leading nation on various levels.
