Environmental management

Course Description: Students will be introduced to the concept of environmental management, its importance, and objectives. They will learn about pollution types and control methods, and be trained on implementing environmental management in various environmental fields using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to achieve sustainable development. Students will gain knowledge of the ISO 14001:2024 international environmental quality standards. They will be trained in scientific observation of their surroundings and identifying prevailing environmental problems. Students will acquire knowledge of techniques and methodologies for solving environmental problems within the framework of GIS, thereby enhancing their field performance for applied environmental research. The course aims to motivate students to conduct scientific research that benefits their local environment.

Introduction to the concept of environmental management, its importance, objectives, advantages, and obstacles. Understanding the implemented techniques and systematic procedures for solving environmental problems.

The student knows the concepts and terminology related to environmental management.
