Fundamentals of Environmental Science

Course Description: The student will be introduced to the basic concepts of ecology, the divisions of ecosystems, their various forms and elements, energy flow through the ecosystem, and the biosphere. The course will also cover the impact of climate change on living organisms, highlighting major environmental problems and their solutions.
Credit hours: 3
Objectives of the course :

Student's awareness of basic knowledge in ecology, ecosystems, energy flow pathways, major environmental problems, and their solutions.

Course outputs :

Introduces the basic concepts in ecology
It identifies the sections, forms, and elements of ecosystems.
The role of the biosphere is classified within the components of the general environment.
It competently analyzes ecosystem cycles and energy flow.
It explains the factors of environmental change and their impact on the environment.
Some environmental observations are classified as field observations.
