Remote Sensing Technologies

Course Description: This course focuses on the fundamentals of remote sensing and its geographic applications. Lectures will concentrate on the core concepts and techniques involved in acquiring and analyzing remote sensing data. Hands-on computer-based exercises will be designed to help students gain practical experience in processing and analyzing remote sensing data. Students are expected to complete a project that applies remote sensing techniques to solve a real-world problem.

Objectives of the course :

Understanding the principles and techniques of remote sensing and its applications in processing and analyzing satellite data, tracking and monitoring natural resources in different environments, forest monitoring, soil mapping, land use, analyzing local and global environmental change, and monitoring natural hazards, among others.
